Interior Design Process

Briefing Meeting.

At our initial briefing meeting I will discuss with you your vision, ideas and expectations. This is an opportunity to get to know more about your lifestyle, tastes and preferences, how spaces are used and specific needs of the space. I will introduce ideas and suggestions and discuss any questions you have about the design process.

Design Brief.

After our initial meeting I will prepare a “Design Brief” which will provide a clear and concise explanation of your wants, needs and desires, and set out the most relevant restrictions, parameters and opportunities presented by the actual building space.

The design brief is a clear, consise and to the point reminder of what key objectives are before and during the design process and offers you peace of mind in knowing we are both on the same page.

A signed acknowledgement of the brief will formalise the client’s agreement to the Design Brief.

The Design Stages.

Stage 1.

Preliminary Design.

Once the Design Brief is formalised, the EED team will develop a conceptual design for your project, using mood boards and other visual references to illustrate our ideas and recommendations.

Based on your feedback a preliminary design scheme will be developed. This is likely to include:

  • Space planning, floor plans and furniture layouts.

  • Furniture and lighting suggestions.

  • Colour and fabric palettes

  • Other architectural changes/suggestions

  • Provisional budget costs

Stage 2.

Detail Design.

During this stage every element of the design is defined and specified in detail in a Specification Schedule of Finishes.

Through a process of presentations and discussions, all materials, colours, fabrics, furniture, lighting, structural and decorative changes are specified and planned.

The documentation produced during this stage detail all the works required, so contractors can use them for quotation purposes.

Stage 3.

Procurement.

In this stage, each element of the design is costed and comparative quotes for works and materials will be obtained by Estelle Elliott Designs.

Depending on the complexity of the project, this phase may involve builders or architects.

Stage 4.

Project Implementation.

Depending on the scope of works, either alone or as part of a team, we will oversea every aspect of your project including timing, scheduling, co-ordination of trades, site meetings and quality control.

From start to finish, we ensure your perfect interior is delivered on time and on budget and finished to the highest standard.

“What People Are Saying”

“Estelle assisted us with two interior/exterior projects, one large modern home and one smaller retro style home refurbishment. Her creative and practical ideas and outcomes for both projects, which were very different in design and style, were simply superb. Each of the homes best features were highlighted and we were very pleased with the results. We would gladly recommend Estelle Elliot Designs”

— Jeannine Alexander, Client

“I first met Estelle in 2016 and since then have become to rely on her expert and considered advice on renovating and decorating. Estelle is intuitive and creative and her ability to connect with a client’s wishes creates a harmonious relationship. I love the way she has been able to push beyond my boundaries with a great result. Magic! As equally appreciated is Estelle’s attentiveness following a project to ensure all is on track. Thank you Estelle for making it such a pleasure to work with you.”

— Alderley Residence, Client

Having Estelle design and oversee our bathroom and painting renovation has been an amazing journey. She really listened to what we were after and made sure no detail was left unresolved. What could have been a daunting task has been handled with ease ,professionalism and an ever present eye for detail that has made all the difference. The end result is just beautiful.

— Kimberley Lee, Client

“I have engaged Estelle's services for two large projects at our home. On both occasions Estelle displayed impeccable professionalism, extensive knowledge of home design and the ability to solve problems without detracting from the projects overall aesthetic. Estelle has a friendly, personable manner which made for an easy and pleasant collaboration.”

— Caroline Kelly, Client

“Estelle designed, supplied and installed bespoke cabinetry for our master bedroom. She provided three concepts based on our brief, all of which were lovely and matched our aesthetic. However one stood out. The cabinets replaced some "temporary" Ikea drawers we purchased when we moved in. They look fabulous and have transformed the room (along with the custom curtains we sourced through Estelle just before Christmas). We have a few more items to go to finish the room, as we are doing it slowly as funds allow. It is the first time i have used an interior designer and i have been extremely happy. Estelle is always delightful to work with.”

— Tina Lisette, Client

“I used Estelle for a new home build and even though I did not know of her work decided she was in the neighbourhood and very handy. I found her to be completely professional, gave fabulous advice, did all the running around and organising for me and still continue to use her when I need something.”

— Susanne Smith, Client

“Estelle transformed our spaces. She has wonderful taste and is very practical. We love our home now. Thank you Estelle.”

— Jacinta Arnold, Client

“I have engaged Estelle Elliott Designs for well over 15 years for my small town house developments around inner Brisbane. It is a pleasure working with Estelle and achieving the best outcome for our projects. I will continue to use her services and would highly recommend this company.”
